Currently Playing.

Recently I discovered the beauty that is Songza. No matter your mood, activity or preferred genre, there is a playlist ready and waiting for you. I downloaded the app a few weeks ago and have been using constantly ever since. I have found a few amazing mixes that have stood by me through singing in the shower, having a solo dance party before bed and everything else in between.

If you were to take a look at the recently played on my iPhone, here are a few of the songs you would find..

One Day.

I was recently reading an article on the Thought Catalog (see here), and it got me thinking. The article had a list of questions to ask on a potential date. All were pretty great, but there was one in particular that got me thinking: “what is one day you would love to relive?”. Continue reading

Blank Space.

“Cheers to another year and another chance for us to get it right”
– Oprah Winfrey

When I was younger I always believed that when the clock struck 12 and the ball had dropped, the new year began and the mistakes of the previous 365 days were forgotten. Sadly, as I got older I realized this wasn’t the case. I learned the hard way that your mistakes and actions from the previous year stay with you (no matter how badly you wish you could delete those texts and calls). For me, a new year is not so much as a blank space, but a fresh start. It has always represented a new beginning to me, whether it was a new semester or a chance for new possible friendships to form. This year, I am so excited to leave 2014 behind and look forward to what 2015 has in store for me. There are huge changes waiting ahead and I’m so eager to get my life going. Like any year, 2014 was filled with beginnings.. and endings. I have learned so much about myself during these past 365 days, and valuable lessons I plan on keeping close to me as I move forward.

For the first time in many years, possibly ever, I’ve put a lot of thought into what my resolutions will be. Rather than focusing on the typical ‘lose weight, be kind, eat healthy’, I have looked into the qualities in myself that I’ve seen emerging- ones that I like and dislike. I’ve come up with a few key resolutions for the upcoming year, and I thought I’d share them with you..

Currently Coveting: Jumpsuits

I love a good jumpsuit or romper. I bought my first romper this past summer and I quickly became obsessed with them! I love how easily an outfit can be made from this article of clothing, regardless if you’re dressing for dinner or a day at the beach. Jumpsuits and rompers can be styled a number of ways, which only add to the appeal for me. In fact, I plan on wearing mine out for NYE with tights and heels! And being the lazy dresser I am, I really can’t find any fault in a slip- and- go kind of outfit ;). I currently own a long sleeved romper, but I’ve been on the hunt for a sleeveless one, in addition to a jumpsuit that I can wear during the winter months. I believe that a jumpsuit is an essential to any fashionista’s closet, so naturally I am doing all I can to find the perfect one. I have rounded up a few of my favourite picks below, but I think the Donna Morgan sequined jumper has to be my favourite- elegant and festive.

Here is a peek of my favourite one pieces..

Marsala ’15.

As some of you may already know, Marsala was recently named Pantone’s 2015 colour of the year. Personally, I am so excited about this decision. Once fall comes, I love mixing and matching my pastels with deeper hues, like emerald greens and burgundy. Marsala is the perfect colour for all year round wear, whether it be on your nails or as a coat. The options for incorporating this shade into your wardrobe is endless- in beauty, fashion and the home. Jewels in this mulled wine colour will add the right touch of edge when combined with bright summer neons, or florals this specific shade will ensure that you will be able to wear the piece all year round. I can already see myself pairing this hue with navy, deep greens and crisp whites.

But in case you need some inspiration, here’s some great ways to wear this gorgeous shade..

Glitter & Gold

Whether you’re planning on spending a cozy night in with your S/O or heading out to a wild party with your girls, finding an outfit for New Year’s Eve can be a nightmare. I’m not sure about the rest of you, but I find NYE the perfect occasion to add a little sparkle to life, and outfit. Sequins are the perfect festive touch around the holidays, and I love finding new ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe. Find yourself drawn to the sequin life also but unsure where to start? Well have no fear, I have come up with NYE outfits, regardless of your plans.

Check out my suggestions below to be sure you’ll be ringing in the new year in style..

Behind the ‘Gram: @cocoandvera

When I was nine years old, I went to Paris for the very first time. The second our bus pulled up in front of the Eiffel Tower, I jumped out and happily exclaimed “this is where I’m meant to be”. To this day, that is one of my mom’s favourite stories to tell about me. Although I was young, I fell in love with the city immediately. I mean, who can hate a city that loves bread, chocolate and wine? ;). Paris has a certain air of excitement and magic about it, unlike any other city I’ve visited. This is a feeling that I’m immediately overcome with every time I stop by Cee Fardoe’s blog, Coco & Vera. Cee is a modern Audrey Hepburn, one of my biggest role models, so I was instantly drawn to her style and blog. Cee’s outfits are unbelievable, her style is so gorgeous and classic- I just want to spend a day going through her wardrobe ;). Splitting her time between Paris and Vancouver, it’s wonderful to see such a diversity of background and photo locations- two cities I am obsessed with.

Keep reading to see how Cee describes her personal style and who she loves following on Instagram! Also, be sure to follow her to stay up to date on all her beautiful outfits, @cocoandvera..

LUSHious: A Holiday Gift Guide

‘Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la! The Christmas season is slowly coming upon us and that means one thing: it’s time to start our holiday shopping. I don’t know about the rest of you, but Christmas shopping stresses me out each and every year. I’m not even kidding. As a frequent mall troll I normally would love any excuse to spend hours within those sacred walls, but once you factor in the insane crowds and pressure to find the ultimate gift, it can really take a toll on a girl. But, thankfully this year I’ve been lucky enough to secure a spot on LUSH’s holiday team, so you know what that means.. Naturally, everyone in my family is getting some form of bath bomb or shower gel. Have to take advantage of the discount while I have it, right? And while all of LUSH’s Christmas products are to die for (it was hard to choose only a handful), I have rounded up five of my favourite picks.

And so, here are some products I think my loved ones will love this Christmas..
