Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have been enjoying the gorgeous summer weather we’ve been having. I can’t believe today is the final Friday of July- I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun. To kick off what will hopefully be a beautiful weekend, I’ve rounded up five suggestions on how to make this weekend fun and exciting!
So, this weekend why not..
1) Go to a festival.
Ottawa’s Riverside Festival takes place tomorrow afternoon and is featuring acts like 3LAU, Starkillers and Henry Fong and tickets are still available. If you’re a music lover or just bored on a Saturday, I definitely recommend checking this out.
2) Visit a museum.
With so many museums in Ottawa, you’re guaranteed to find an exhibit that you like. I’ve been seeing posters around for the Museum of Nature’s Creatures of Light exhibit and I’m super excited about it! If you’re looking for an educational but fun activity, you’ve found it.
3) Try a new recipe.
No bonfire, no problem! These S’more Krispy Treats give a great twist on an old favourite. With marshmellows, Golden Graham and chocolate chips, it’s hard to go wrong with this recipe. I know what I’ll be cooking up this weekend 😉
4) See Shakespeare in the park.
A Company of Fools Theater performs Shakespeare plays throughout the summer. The performances are free but donations are encouraged. A live show is the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
5) Take a haunted walk.
Looking for a new way to rediscover the city? Ottawa’s Haunted Walk does just that. Get to know some of the nation’s capital favourite spots in a more ghostly light. If you love history and ghost stories, this tour will definitely not disappoint!
Which activity will you be trying this weekend?
